Christ Church Cathedral was built in 1894 at 900 Broadway and is the spiritual home for more than 2,000 parishioners. It also serves as the Cathedral for the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee. Through its Sacred Space for the City ministry, it has become a Cathedral for the entire city of Nashville. In addition to the vital worship, youth, music and outreach programs, Sacred Space for the City includes First Friday Sacred Soul Space, Prayers for World Peace in the Taizé tradition, Sacred Space for the City Art Series, and Cathedral Reconciliation Ministries. With its elaborately carved stone exterior, imposing tower, beautiful wood carvings and impressive stained glass windows, Christ Church Cathedral stands as a striking example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture in downtown Nashville.
